Complete Meat were a key player in supporting the Axminster Power Tools ‘Business Challenge’. Where the reward for the winning team was a weekend with partners in London, while the losing team reconvened at the Station Café on Monday morning prior to spending the day cleaning the warehouse.
The Axminster Business Challenge involved two teams from Axminster Tool Centre to sell as many sausages as possible in a TV style ‘Apprentice’ challenge for only one week.

As most of us know the British reality television series ‘The Apprentice’ which is a group of aspiring young businessmen and women competing for the chance to work with the British business magnate Lord Sugar. One major difference to the TV programme and The Axminster business Challenge was that no one will actually get fired!
With a budget of £500 per team, they worked with Complete Meats to make the ultimate sausage and sell the most! The teams had to create, brand and sell as many sausages as they could between midday Friday 6 September to 6pm on Thursday 12 September.
The event proved so popular that BBC Spotlight came to film the penultimate day at Axminster market on 12th September 2013.
Collectively, the teams sold a total of 11,880 sausages. Shaun Vining, owner of Complete Meats said “That’s fast approaching one metric ton of sausages and the two teams have taken the lion’s share of sausage sales in the West Country this week!”
One of the biggest coups of the week was a deal with River Cottage. But they also sold widely to local businesses including Millers Farm Shop, Axminster Carpets, Pecorama, Gillys, Galley Café and South West Communications plus other businesses in Sidmouth and Lyme Regis, pubs, clubs, company employees, friends and family.

The profit resulting from the challenge totaled £1,865.50 and will be donated to Axminster’s chosen charity for 2013, Children’s Hospice South West.
